3M™ Hydrated Sponge with 10ml Buffered Peptone Water HS10BPW. Ready-to-use, moistened sponges for easy and convenient sampling of environmental and food samples. This biocide-free cellulose sponge is moistened with buffered peptone water to facilitate sampling. The biocide-free cellulose sponge only affects the viability of the microorganisms for Salmonella and E. coli bacteria after 48 hours of refrigerated storage and for Listeria only after 72 hours. The cellulose material is robust, absorbent and can absorb and release the sample without dripping unnecessarily. The sponge comes with a 5" x 9" 3M™ sample bag with a capacity of 0.89L/30oz that allows the sponge to be safely and conveniently transported to the laboratory. The bag is double laminated to ensure stability, puncture resistance and tear resistance during mixing and transport. Cable ties ensure a secure closure and the blue top edge and large white writable area make the bag easy to identify. The writable area is ideal for documenting test data, sample collection date, time and other information, facilitating accurate record keeping and easy identification. The bag and sponge are decontaminated using gamma radiation to preserve the viability of the organisms and ensure a long shelf life. This product is made in the USA with materials purchased abroad and is certified to the ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance standard. The sampler is intended for laboratory use only.
