3M™ 5557 Water Contact Indicator is a 0.259mm thick tape that indicates contact with water. The indicator band changes color from white to red when it comes into direct contact with water. An additional film layer made of polyester enables printing with all common printing processes. Features - Additional film layer, printable with thermal transfer, flexo or screen printing, with excellent ink absorption - The top layer of film also protects against contamination and moisture during processing - The paper backing is extremely absorbent and transports water to enable display - Thanks to the acrylic adhesive, the tape has very high adhesion to most surfaces, including low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and powder coatings - Overall construction can be machined with rotary die cutting machines and is UL-969 compliant
