The 3M™ Quick Swab is a ready-to-use environmental swab system consisting of an approximately 12.7 cm (5 inch) long swab with a rayon tip. The tip is moistened with Letheen neutralization buffer which protects the bacteria. The swabs can be used dry or wet for surface sampling, quickly dispensing a 1.0mL sample onto a 3M™ Petrifilm™ Plate. Because less labor is required for preparation, sampling, and preparation of the sample, the cost per test is reduced. There is no need to prepare neutralization dilutions, nor is it necessary to pipette the sample onto the plate or into the assay medium. Samples can be taken quickly and easily with the swab. This sampling device is decontaminated with gamma radiation, making it a long-lasting, ready-to-use product.
