Copper 40 μL, pans without lids. This type of crucible is almost exclusively used for the determination of oxidative stability (OIT). Usually the induction time measured in this way is compared to the value obtained using an inert aluminum pan. Aluminum is the standard DSC crucible material up to 640°C. For solids, liquids and powder samples and excellent DSC performance. The perfectly flat base of the pan ensures excellent thermal contact and minimizes artifacts. Pans with pin are recommended if reproducibility is critical. They cannot be used with a robot.
